Irish tourists among those injured in Barcelona bus crash

Irish tourists are said to be among those injured when a coach crashed in Barcelona on the way to the airport according to local emergency services.

RTÉ report that 24 people were injured in the crash, among them tourists from Ireland, Britain, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Belarus and Spain.

Three of the people were seriously injured when the bus crashed in heavy rain at 3am this morning.

Fifteen people sustained light injuries while six more received moderate injuries with all of those affected taken to hospitals in Barcelona.

The bus had been travelling on a ring-road near the waterfront on the way to El Prat airport when the collision occurred.
