Irish woman dies while on charity trip in Africa

The woman is believed to have died in East Africa on Friday.

An Irish woman has died while on a charity trip to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

The 35-year-old is believed to be from the Cork/Waterford area.

Full details are yet to be released, but the organisers of the adventure holidays that the woman was on confirmed the death on Facebook.

The woman was due to travel to Tanzania for the charity fund-raising climb.

She died on currently unknown causes while being attended to by a doctor.

Her family have been informed of her death, and the Department Of Foreign Affairs will be liasing with the family to begin the planning of the return of her remains back to Ireland.
