The big news was confirmed today.
You might see the likes of Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Colin Farrell knocking around the streets of Limerick in the near future after plans to develop a major film studio in the city were confirmed.
The local council will invest up to €6million in the old Dell factory site to turn it into a multi-million euro film and TV production hub and US movie companies are already showing interest.
The new studio facilities will be based in Castletroy, they’ll by in association with Ardmore Studios, and the project is expected to create up to 700 new jobs for the area.
Rumours suggest that the first film planned to be made there is Rubberbandits: The Movie*.
