Jaysus, a motorist in Cork has been caught driving without insurance for the 73rd time

Some people never learn

Some people never learn.

We hope that none of our readers have ever had any serious problems on the road, but we’re also realists and know that a few unfortunate ‘mistakes’ will always happen.

There’s no such thing as the perfect driver, despite what you might say to your mates, but we would like to think that the majority of Irish drivers will learn from their infrequent errors and never repeat them again.

Fool me once, shame on you; try and fool me 73 times, then you’re clearly as dangerous and daft as this particular Cork motorist.

The Evening Echo have reported that Cork driver Anthony O’Sullivan was caught driving without insurance for the 73rd time recently.

We really would have loved to see the face on the sentencing judge after they learned the amount of times that O’Sullivan was a repeat offender behind the wheel.

Apparently the 28-year-old driver also has a list of previous convictions for various other offences that brings his grand total up to 421. He must know his way around the court pretty well then at this stage.

We’re not surprised to learn that the judge has sentenced O’Sullivan to five months behind bars and banned him from driving for 15 years after his latest run-in with the law.

To be honest, we wouldn’t let him get behind the wheel of a tricycle never mind a car. 73 times, Jaysus Chrisht!
