‘He’s irreplaceable.’

Jerry Springer had died aged 79. The famous US talk show host’s passing was confirmed by his family in a statement on Thursday. He died Thursday morning, peacefully at his home in the Chicago area. Spokesperson Jene Galvin said: “Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word. “He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humour will live on.” An official cause of death has not been revealed. However, TMZ reported that a family spokesperson told the outlet that the star had been diagnosed with cancer in recent months. Springer died after battling a “brief illness”, the publisher said, saying sources told it the host had pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed a few months ago. More to follow.
