JLS singer Oritse Williams is being investigated by police for alleged rape
He was arrested on suspicion of rape and has since been released on bail, pending further investigation.
JLS singer Oritsé Williams has been arrested on suspicion of rape. Williams was performing at the Gorgeous club, Wolverhampton when he met the 20-year-old fan and West Midlands Police have confirmed that a rape investigation has been launched.
The woman who reported the crime, allegedly told the authorities that she went to Oritsé's hotel room with a friend, where Oritsé and his own friend were staying.
Shortly after leaving the hotel room, the reported victim realised that she forgot her purse, and upon returning to the hotel room, was allegedly raped by Oritsé.
A source close to the alleged victim said: "The girl and her friend are both massive JLS and Oritsé fans. Apparently Oritsé wasn’t drinking at the club. One of the girls knocked on the door saying she wanted to retrieve her stuff and was let back in, it’s then she says she was raped. Police were called to the hotel shortly afterwards to a report of rape and Williams was arrested there."
As of yet, no charges have been brought but speaking with The Sun on Sunday, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police has confirmed that a rape investigation has been launched.
"West Midlands Police were called to a Wolverhampton hotel at 7.45am on Friday December 2 after an allegation of rape and sexual assault was made by a 20-year-old woman. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and a 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. Both men have been bailed until February, pending further enquiries."
