41-year-old Jon Jonsson has been missing since the morning of Saturday, 9 February.

He was last seen in Whitehall, County Dublin.

Jonsson was seen on CCTV at McGettigan’s Bar at 11.07am, exiting onto the Swords Road heading northbound towards Dublin Airport.

He is described as being six foot tall and of medium build with short brown hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a black padded jacket.

Earlier this week, An Garda Síochána renewed their appeal for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of the Iceland native, with family members concerned for his wellbeing.

Further measures have been taken, with Jonsson’s family and friends flying into Dublin to help with the search.

They have set up a GoFundMe campaign and are asking for the public to help in three ways:

1. Support the search financially by donating directly to the GoFundMe page, which will cover housing costs for those from Iceland and to print flyers and posters, as well as covering Jonsson’s financial obligations at home.

2. Help spread flyers around the country. You can contact [email protected] for more information.

3. Help spread the word and raise awareness, including sharing the link to the GoFundMe campaign.

That page is available here.

At time of writing, almost €7,000 of the page’s €10,000 goal has been reached.

Anyone who has seen Jon or who may be able to assist in locating him is asked to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 666 4400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
