Man charged following triple assault with hammer in Kerry filling station

A man in his 30s will appear in court charged in connection with three serious assaults that took place in Tralee, Kerry on Friday night (11 October).

The incidents occurred at a filling station in Cloonmore at approximately 9pm when three men – one aged in his 40s, two in their 50s – were struck in the back of their heads with a hammer.

The men were taken to University Hospital Kerry with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Upon carrying out searches at the scene, Gardaí located the suspect nearby, recovering the hammer in the process.

The assailant was subsequently arrested and later detained at Tralee Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing, though An Garda Síochána has confirmed that the man will appear at the next sitting of district court, charged in connection with the assaults.
