The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) said it’s trying to establish if the animals were ‘John Coe’ and ‘Dopey Dick’ of the Scottish West Coast Community group of killer whales.

The IWDG said this is actually the second killer whale sighting record validated by IWDG since October this year, when another pair were recorded travelling north further offshore, some 22 miles east of Skerries.

That sighting was also reported by a fisherman.
