The historic attraction beat out the likes of the Taj Mahal and the Acropolis.
Kilmainham Gaol has been named the world’s best museum, and one of the globe’s top tourist attractions overall by
Tripadvisor.
The jail, located in the heart of Dublin 8, was handed the prestigious title by Tripadvisor users and was ultimately named the 13

Dublin landmark has firmly cemented itself as a must-see destination on any trip to the nation’s capital.
The jail of course holds such significance given it was the location of the executions of the 1916 Easter Rising leaders, as well as being one of the largest unoccupied prisons in Europe.
