Gardaí have raided seven premises across Leinster as part of an investigation into human trafficking.
Three address in Kilkenny and another four in Carlow were raided and searched, with all seven premises suspected to be brothels.
Once the searches were completed, evidence of prostitution was discovered and the premises were then closed down.
Additionally, a further fifteen inspections were carried out at fast food outlets, restaurants and nail bars by Garda immigration officers, again across the counties of Kilkenny and Carlow.
According to RTE News, one person was arrested for immigration offences in Carlow and appeared at Carlow District Court on Friday afternoon.
The entire operation was carried out across both counties with the assistance of the National Digital Intelligence Unit.
