Wrap up warm ya hear.

Wrap up warm ya hear.

A weather warning is in effect today after forecasters warned of potential sleet and snow in some areas of the country.

According to the Irish Times, there has already been snowfall reported on higher ground in parts of Connacht and Ulster, while there has also been some snowfall in Longford.

Most of the country has been hit by heavy rain for most of the day but that will change to sleet and snow as temperatures drop later tonight, especially on higher ground.

It is most definitely onesie season.

Hail, sleet and snow showers are expected in parts of Ulster and Connacht tonight and there’s a risk that some coastal parts of Munster may also be affected.

Stephen’s Day is traditionally a busy day on the roads with sporting events such as the rugby inter-provincial derbies taking place, so it’s important that you take care on the roads this evening and tomorrow.
