“We won’t let the criminal actions of others impact on our hard-working team.”

Lidl Ireland has revealed that employees in its Fortunestown store in Dublin have been redeployed to other stores in the wake of the outlet being demolished and looted last Friday night. Six people were arrested after a stolen digger was used to bulldoze into the side of the store, which was subsequently looted, while criminals also attempted to break into a safe stolen from the premises. Footage of the incidents was shared widely in the wake of the events on Friday night. In a brief statement on Monday afternoon, Lidl Ireland revealed that a meeting took place during which it was decided to redeploy employees at the Lidl store in Fortunestown to other Lidl outlets. The store manager expressed her thanks for the kind words received in the aftermath of Friday night’s events and to the swell of support from the local community and from people all over the country.
