Thai man sentenced under the country's royal defamation law.

A 27-year-old Thai man is looking at 32 years in jail for liking and sharing a Photoshopped Facebook image of King Bhumibol Adulyadej - Thailand's King. Thanakorn Siripaiboon has confessed to the charges of lése majesté - the crime of violating majesty in Thailand - as well as computer crimes and will be convicted under Thai law, which carries a 15 year sentence for insulting the King of Thailand. Siripaiboon was arrested for liking and sharing two Facebook posts insinuating Thai corruption. According to Sky News, arrests of a similar nature have significantly increased since the army took over leadership last year. Siripaiboon's defence team, Thai Lawyers for Human Rights, say that they have "no idea" where their client is being held by the army, with the strong possibility that he "has become a victim of enforced disappearance".
