Omarosa Manigault Newman, one of Donald Trump’s longest serving associates, was fired from her role in the White House today, according to reports.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Manigault Newman was “physically dragged and escorted off the campus” after her abrupt dismissal on Tuesday.

Manigault Newman, who is known to the American public simply as Omarosa, began her relationship with Trump as a participant on The Apprentice, when he was a host. She had a person-you-love-to-hate persona and built a successful reality TV career, also appearing on Celebrity Apprentice.

She became involved with Trump politically during his presidential campaign, signing on to work as Director of African-American Outreach. Since Trump has been president, Omarosa has served in an advisory role, and the reasons for her dismissal have not been made public.

Press Secretary Sarah Huckerbee Sanders issued a boiler plate statement with regards Omarosa’s departure, saying “Omarosa Manigault Newman resigned yesterday to pursue other opportunities. Her departure will not be effective until January 20, 2018. We wish her the best in future endeavors and are grateful for her service.”

Deadline has further reported that the decision was made by Trump’s Chief of Staff John Kelly, who was “tired of all the drama.”
