A little poem in honour of Irish summers…
Every week we break out the shorts,
But then we’re told to bring out the umbrellas,
All we want to do is play some outdoor sports,
In the sunshine with the other ladies and fellas.
This whole week we’ve been getting rained on,
And we’ve also been absolutely sweatin’,
But now the good folks at Met Eireann,
Are talking about the heatwave we’ll be gettin’.
As high as twenty-five degrees when it’s at its best,
And the average of low-twenties not bad at all,
With the hottest of it going to the North West,
So you’ll be lucky if you’re up in Donegal.
It’ll take a turn on Friday when it’s expected to rain,
And that isn’t much of a surprise, one supposes,
Which sucks if you happens to be in Slane,
But we’re sure you’ll still enjoy those Guns ‘N’ Roses.
