Murder investigation launched following death of man in Louth

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the death of Marius Juodenas in Louth.

On Tuesday 5 July, Gardaí attended a house on Barrack Street in Dundalk, where Juodenas was discovered with serious injuries.

The 44 year-old was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he was placed on life support.

Juodenas then passed away this past Tuesday (26 July), with a post-mortem conducted at Dublin City mortuary.

An incident room has been put in place at Dundalk Garda station and Gardaí are investigating “all the circumstances”.

A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family to keep them informed of the investigation.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly those who were in the vicinity of Barrack Street between 6.30pm and 7pm on Tuesday 5 July 2022, to come forward.

Any road users who were travelling in the area and who may have camera footage, including dash cam, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
