Lusk Laundry shop letter has desired effect as guilt-ridden thief returns tree overnight

It’s a Christmas miracle.

It’s a Christmas miracle.

Heartwarming and feelgood stories are always good to hear at this time of year and they don’t come much more heartwarming than the one involving the Life’s 2 short for laundry shop in Lusk in Dublin in the last couple of days.

In case you didn’t happen upon the story on the site last night, shop owner Sandra Smith penned a brilliant letter in response to having one of a pair of bay trees stolen from outside of her shop, a letter guaranteed to tug at the heartstrings of anyone who read it and inspire major feelings of guilt in the person or people responsible for the theft in the first place.

In a brilliant development, the letter had the desired effect as Sandra was glad to report on her Facebook page today that the tree had been returned anonymously overnight and rather than harbour any feelings of anger towards the thief in question, Sandra magnanimously posted another letter thanking them for their good deed.

We’re suddenly feeling very Christmassy inside.

Hat-tip to Catherine Shannon for the heads up with this one
