Fire engines from Dublin Fire Brigade remained at the scene of the fire overnight.
No injuries have been reported from firefighters or members of the public following
a major fire at the Metro Hotel building in Ballymun in north Dublin on Wednesday night.
Eight fire engines, over 60 firefighters, three aerial appliances, ambulances and advanced paramedics were deployed to battle the blaze and provide assistance as a fire spread through the upper floors of the building.

The building was evacuated on Wednesday night, while four fire engines from the Dublin Fire Brigade remained at the scene overnight to damp down and extinguish hot spots.

Shortly after 7am on Thursday morning, Dublin Fire Brigade reported that one fire appliance remained at the site of the fire and that no injuries had been reported by the fire brigade or by members of the public.

Traffic delays are likely to occur locally in the area throughout Thursday morning; Santry Avenue was closed between Santry Cross and Forestwood Avenue, while the Ballymun Road has reopened both ways apart from a section of the bus lane inbound, which is closed where it passes the Santry Cross and Forestwood Avenue junction.
