Further developments from the situation in Mali.

The Radisson Blu Hotel in Mali’s capital, Bamako has been attacked today by terrorists, with 170 hostages held.

Reports suggest that three of the hostages have been killed.

Meanwhile, Reuters are reporting that some hostages have been freed after they successfully recited verses from the Koran. Additionally, a number of Turkish Airline workers at the hotel have managed to escape.

Sky News are reporting that the attackers are preferring to hold hostages, instead of the mass killing spree which occurred in Paris.

The gunmen have been heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” – or “God is great” in Arabic.
