Very sad news.
A man in his 20s has died after he was stabbed at a house in Cork city on Thursday evening.
The incident happened just after 9pm at a house on the Bandon Road, an area of Cork where a large number of students from University College Cork live.
The emergency services attended the house following reports that a man was seriously injured.
The man, believed to be in his early 20s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination.
The State Pathologist has been notified and a post mortem examination will be conducted at CUH later today.
