The crash occurred overnight.

A man in his 20s has died following a single-vehicle collision in County Westmeath.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash near Ballinafid on the N4 just before 1am this morning, Sunday, March 15.

The man, who was driving the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for a technical examination and the Corner has been notified.

Gardaí are appealing for any road users with information to come forward, as well as anyone who may have camera footage or dash cam footage to make it available to investigating gardaí.
