Man in his 30s arrested following Meath house fire

A man in his 30s has been arrested following a fire on Christmas Day morning in Navan.

Gardaí have said they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding a fire that occurred at a house in Beechmount Estate, Navan.

A man in his 30s has been arrested in relation to the fire and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Navan Garda Station. He is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday morning, Gardaí and fire services attended the scene of the fire.

No one was in the house a time and two adjoining houses were safely evacuated.
