They are currently being held in Offaly and Laois.
Two people, a male in his 30s and a female teenager, were arrested on suspicion of murder by Gardaí investigating a missing person investigation.
The arrests were made and announced today (Thursday 20 June).
They are currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The male in his 30s is being detained at Portlaoise Garda Station. The female teenager is being detained at Tullamore Garda Station.
The search of the area in Dunamaise in Portlaoise will continue tomorrow (Friday 21 June) morning along with the assistance of the Defence Forces.
Back in March, Gardaí issued a statement to the public, stating they need assistance in locating the whereabouts of 56-year-old William Delaney, who was missing from the Portlaoise area since the end of January.
