Man in his 30s killed following road traffic collision in Meath

The incident occurred on Monday evening.

A man in his 30s has died following a fatal road traffic collision at Carnaross in Kells in Meath on Monday (19 October).

The collision involved a car and a truck, and occurred shortly before 9.30pm.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead on the scene, and his body has been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Navan where a post-mortem is expected to take place.

The R147 road between Kells and Virginia has been closed while Gardaí conduct a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information about this collision, in particular drivers who were travelling between Kells and Virginia between 9pm and 10pm who may have dashcam footage from this time.
