Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

A man in his 30s has died following a motorcycle crash in Dublin.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the single-vehicle accident at Constitution Hill, Dublin 7, which occurred about 2.20am.

The man was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The outbound lane of the road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.

In a statement to JOE on Thursday morning, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcycle, which occurred at Constitution Hill, Dublin 7, this morning, Thursday 11th July 2024, at approximately 2.20am.

“The male driver of the motorcycle (aged in his 30’s) was conveyed to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

“The outbound lane of the road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place.

“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on Constitution Hill, Dublin 7, between 1.30am and 2.30am this morning, Thursday 11th July 2024, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Bridewell Garda Station on 01 666 8200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
