Detectives investigating the murder of school teacher Sabina Nessa have arrested a man aged in his 30s in relation to the tragic incident.

Detectives in south-east London arrested the 38-year-old man in East Sussex with UK Metropolitan Police saying the suspect had been detained at about 3am on Sunday morning.

The man is currently being held in police custody for questioning.

On Thursday investigators released CCTV images of a badling man believed to be carrying a reflective red object and a silver car.

The CCTV footage was captured in Pegler Square in Kidbrooke in south-east London where Nessa had been close to on the evening of her death. However, it is unknown if the man who has been arrested is the same man from the footage.

Two men have been seperately arrested on suspicion of her murder to date but both have been released under investigation.

Nessa’s family have been informed of the development.

The teacher had been walking to meet a friend at a pub near her home when she was attacked in Kidbrooke on 17 September. Nessa’s body was found by a passerby the next day, hidden under a pile of leaves.
