A man in his 70s has died in a single car crash in Kerry

Very sad news.

A man in his 70s has died following a road traffic collision in Ballybunion in Kerry.

Gardaí received a report of a single vehicle collision on the Lartigue Road shortly before 12pm on Wednesday.

Upon investigation, Gardaí discovered the body of a man in his 70s in the car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Hospital Kerry where a post mortem examination will take place.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, in particular to anyone who travelled in both directions on the Lartigue Road between 11.30am and 12.30pm on 5 February.

Gardaí are also appealing to road users with dash-cam footage recorded in the area during the times outlined to contact Listowel Garda Station on 068-50820, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
