There have been numerous news reports over the last few days of several body remains being found in and around Wicklow, and this evening Gardai have arrested someone in connection to the remains.

The man, in his late 30s, was arrested in Wexford on Tuesday evening, and Gardai have confirmed that they are confident that the remains – including the recent, fifth separate discovery, this time of a head and hands – belong to one adult female.

Superintendent Pat Ward made a statement on Tuesday evening, informing that it has been a very complex investigation, which has been ongoing since June 10th.

The findings were revealed to be limbs and “signficant parts of the torso”, and in one of the locations a bag with was discovered with the head and hands of the deceased.

It is believed that the body parts were thrown from a window of a vehicle as it drove along the roads.

Gardai appeal that anyone who might have seen anything suspicious or unusual around the general area of Military Road / Laragh Co Wicklow, to contact the incident room at Bray Garda Station on 01-666 5300, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Garda are particularly interested in anyone who may have had access to CCTV footage, or webcam and Go Pro footage from the area, from 2 June to 10 June.
