Man arrested after woman killed by agricultural vehicle in Galway

A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman on a Galway farm earlier this year.

Gardaí had been investigating the incident since the woman, who was in her 70s, was struck by an agricultural vehicle on a farm in Boula, near Portumna in Galway, on 27 April, 2018.

Emergency services arrived at the scene after the incident, where the woman was pronounced dead.

Today, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that an arrest had been made, pursuant to the investigation.

The man, who has not been publicly named, was arrested today (11 December) in County Galway and is currently detained under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Loughrea Garda Station.
