Man attacked by two men in his home during aggravated burglary in Meath

Jewellery and a sum of cash were reported stolen.

A man was injured during an aggravated burglary in Meath on Monday (16 May).

Shortly after 1pm, two men entered a residence in the Hill of Down area and attacked the occupant of the home.

A man in his 60s received a number of injuries and was later taken to Mullingar General Hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

A Garda spokesperson said that jewellery and a sum of cash were reported stolen and that no arrests have been made at this time.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to the aggravated burglary to come forward.

They are looking to speak to anyone who was in the Hill of Down and Kinnegad areas between 10.30am to 3.30pm on Monday, 16 May and may have seen anything.

Anyone with camera footage from the area at this time, including dashcam footage, is also asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
