Very sad news.
A man has died after falling in the Comeragh Mountains in Waterford on Sunday.
The man, who is from Tipperary, fell and suffered major injuries while walking at Mahon Falls on Sunday afternoon.
Attempts at rescuing the man by emergency services from the ground proved unsuccessful and the man was airlifted to hospital by Coast Guard helicopter but died from his injuries.
A post mortem on the man is expected to take place at Waterford University Hospital on Monday.
