Very sad news.
A man in his 50s has died following a collision between a truck and a car in Cork.
Gardaí are at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision between a truck and a car that occurred at approximately 7.15am on Thursday morning.
The collision occurred on the R630, the main Midleton and Whitegate road in Cork.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post mortem is due to take place at a later date.
Forensic Collision Investigators are at the scene and the road remains closed with local diversions in place.
