Man dies after being struck by refuse lorry in Tallaght

The incident occurred on Thursday evening.

A man in Tallaght in Dublin has died after being struck by a refuse lorry on Thursday 19 March.

Gardaí are currently investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 4.25pm on Thursday at Dún An Óir, Oldbawn in Tallaght.

A male in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a refuse lorry during the course of his work.

He was removed for post-mortem which is scheduled to take place at a later date.

No other injuries were reported.

The road remains closed and Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and local Coroner have been notified.

Gardaí in Tallaght are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and are also appealing to any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make it available to them.
