Man dies after falling from mobility scooter in Cork

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward.

A man in his mid-80s has died after falling from a mobility scooter while travelling in Kinsale in Cork.

In a statement to JOE, a Garda spokesperson said that the road traffic incident occurred shortly after 9.30am on Sunday (31 July) on Cork Street.

Gardaí and emergency services attended at the scene and the seriously injured man was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

An examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators has been arranged and the local coroner has since been notified, the spokesperson stated.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward.
