Man dies following paragliding accident in Wicklow mountains

Very sad news.

A man in his 30s has died in a paragliding accident in Wicklow.

The man is believed to have been on the Wicklow Mountains yesterday paragliding, but did not return to his north Dublin home on Saturday night.

Gardaí and Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue commenced a search along with the Irish Coast Guard Rescue.

At approximately 8am on Sunday morning, the man’s body was discovered in a field at Ballinacor Estate, Wicklow together with wreckage.

The body will be removed this morning for a Post Mortem examination.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) have been informed and will carry out an investigation.
