A 29-year-old man has been arrested by Gardaí following an armed robbery in Ballymun on Tuesday.

On Tuesday evening, a lone male entered a shop on Coultry Road at around 7pm and proceeded to threaten staff with a suspected firearm. A sum of money was stolen from the till.

Two armed Garda detectives happened to be in the store at the time and confronted the man who fled on foot.
