Man due in court following loaded firearm seizure at Limerick train station

A 25-year-old man, found in possession of a loaded firearm and ammunition in a Limerick train station this week, is expected to appear before a sitting of Limerick District Court on Wednesday, April 11 to face charges in connection with the investigation.

The young man was arrested on Monday afternoon in the vicinity of Colbert Station in Limerick city, Gardaí have confirmed.

He was found to have a loaded firearm and ammunition in his backpack, following a search by Gardaí.

The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Roxboro Garda Station where he was detained under Section 30, Offences Against the State, Act, 1939/98 as amended.
