Man hospitalised after being shot twice in north Dublin

The man in his 20s was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital.

A man is being treated in Beaumont Hospital after being shot in north Dublin on Friday evening.

The incident took place at Belcamp Crescent, Coolock at 19.30 and Gardaí say he is being treated for gunshot wounds to his leg.

The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Witnesses said that a silver Volkswagen Boro pulled up beside the man and a passenger emerged, shooting the man twice with a handgun. The car then drove away from the area.

Gardaí are carrying out a technical examination of the scene and house to house inquiries have begun.

Gardaí have also appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Coolock Garda station on 01 666 4200.
