A man was killed and at least seven other people were injured after an unidentified gunman opened fire at graduation party in Philadelphia on Sunday night.

The shooting occurred when 60 people gathered for a graduation celebration at an address near two playgrounds in southwest Philadelphia.

The people were attending the party at 70th and Buist avenues when the incident occurred at around 10pm local time.

The gunman entered the room and fired at least eight shots, as reported by NBC Philadelphia.

Four adults, all believed to be in their 20s, suffered wounds and a man was later pronounced dead.

Police Commissioner Richard Ross said that four teenagers also suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, primarily in their legs.

Ross also said that there may have been more than one shooter.

The shooting came at the end of a violent weekend in Philadelphia. Prior to the incident, at least three people were killed and 15 others injured in separate shootings across the city.

No arrests have been made and police have not yet released a description of the shooter. They’re hoping to find surveillance video of the incident and are interviewing witnesses.
