An investigation is underway.
A man was rushed to hospital following an alleged shooting incident in Co Wicklow on Tuesday.
A firearm is believed to have been discharged after two men travelling in a car were blocked in by another vehicle at around 10pm on Tuesday in Ballinahinch near the village of Roundwood.
According to RTE News, one of the men travelling in the car, believed to be aged in his 20s, was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a nearby hospital.
Gardai are calling on witnesses to come forward, and issued a statement to the public this morning.
“Investigations into all the circumstances of this incident are ongoing at Bray Garda Station. Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
“Any persons travelling in the Roundwood area between 9:30pm and 10:30pm on Tuesday 23rd July 2024 are asked to come forward.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in this area at these times are asked to make this footage available to Gardai.”
They added: “Gardai are also appealing to any persons who observed the movements of a silver Mercedes Benz that travelled from Roundwood onto Newtownmountkennedy and then northbound on the N11 into the Dublin 4 area between 10pm and 11pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Bray Garda Station on 01 666 5300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”

Last week, a man in Longford was left seriously injured following a shooting.
In a statement to JOE, a Garda spokesperson said the incident occurred at around 7.50pm and involved the discharge of a firearm at a residential premises in Longford town.
A man in his 70s was taken to Regional Hospital Mullingar following the incident.
Multiple reports have said that the shooting is understood to be part of an ongoing feud between two families in the area.
Local Fianna Fáil councillor Séamus Butler has cautioned against any retaliation amid fears of escalating violence.
“It’s totally out of order and what I’m afraid of is if this escalates, it could be extremely – people will be killed,” the politician told RTÉ News on Thursday.
“That was attempted murder last night here in Longford in a peaceful estate, a good estate.
“I would plea with people, do not retaliate.”
The Garda spokesperson said no arrests have been made but that investigations are ongoing.
