Man charged following stabbing incident in Dublin

A man has been formally charged following a stabbing incident that took place in Dublin in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 22 December.

At approximately 2am on Wednesday, Gardaí received a report of a violent assault that took place at a house in Harmonstown, Dublin 5.

A man, aged in his 30s, sustained serious injuries during the incident.

He was taken to hospital by emergency services, though has since been discharged.

Following inquiries by investigating Gardaí alongside assistance from the Armed Support Unit, a man – also aged in his 30s – was arrested a short distance away from the scene of the altercation.

He was taken to Coolock Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The man has since been charged in relation to the incident and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin on Thursday morning.
