A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an aggravated burglary in Cork.
A man in his 40s suffered multiple stab wounds during an aggravated burglary at Lynch’s Quay in Cork city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardaí were alerted to the incident at around 2am on 8 March and found that the man in his 40s had been seriously assaulted following an altercation.
The injured man has since been hospitalised at Cork University Hospital.
A male in his 20s was arrested a short time later and is currently detained at Cobh Garda station. He is due to appear in Cork City Court today (9 March).
