A man and a woman have died in a house fire in Co Roscommon.
The pair, both believed to be in their 50s, died in the fire in the early hours of Thursday morning, in a house near Rooty Cross, approximately 13km east of Ballinasloe.
Fire services from Ballinasloe and Athlone attended the scene when the alarm was raised just after 2am on Thursday morning.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the fire to come forward.
The house has since been sealed off and the remains of the deceased have been removed from the scene.
