PICS: Gardaí appeal for witnesses to theft of young boy’s specially adapted wheelchair

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Update 16.35: The car and its contents have been found and returned.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an incident that occurred at approximately 2.45am today (Saturday 26 October) at a house in Brindley Park Green, Ashbourne, in Meath.

The house was burgled, and consequently, the car from the home was also stolen. A number of items in the car including a wheelchair were also taken.

Speaking to JOE, Gardaí confirmed that they are investigating the theft of the car and its contents, but that no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

The car owner’s son’s specially adapted wheelchair was in the car at the time.

This chair is Kyle’s only mode of transport and can’t be replaced for weeks. Any witnesses or anyone with any potential information have been asked to contact Gardaí at Ashbourne at 01-8010600.
