It's looking like we may finally get a break from the rain.
Met Éireann has forecasted sunshine as temperatures are set to soar to mid-twenties this week across the country as "high pressure" looks set to hit Ireland.
Monday is set to start off with sunshine and isolated showers in the morning. However, the showers will turn more frequent in the afternoon with some turning heavy over the eastern half of the country in the evening and a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures will reach 18 to 22 degrees.
Conditions are likely to turn gradually more settled through the week as high pressure comes to dominate our weather. It will be dry for most counties and warm overall, with temperatures reaching the mid-twenties towards the end of the week.
Tuesday will see a generally cloudy start to the day with scattered patches of drizzle developing in western coastal counties. Elsewhere will be largely dry with sunny spells developing through the day. Highest temperatures will reach 18 to 22 degrees.
Wednesday will be a dry day for most counties yet again with plenty of sunny spells. However, it will be cloudier over western coastal counties with patchy light rain and drizzle developing there through the day.
Highest temperatures will soar to 20 to 24 degrees generally, and between 18 to 20 degrees along western coasts.
Thursday will start quite cloudy with scattered patches of light rain and drizzle, becoming drier and brighter through the day, with sunny spells developing. Highest temperatures will reach 19 to 23 degrees.
Current indications for Friday and the weekend suggest that there will be a good deal of dry weather on Friday apart from light showers in the west.
The weekend will stay largely dry with spells of sunshine and will be warm too with temperatures widely reaching the mid-twenties.
