We’re not out of the snow-covered woods just yet…

Met Éireann has updated its weather warnings for Ireland, with the entirety of the Republic of Ireland affected.

The worst of Storm Emma may be over, but Saturday morning’s status orange and yellow warnings have now been extended until midday on Sunday.

The status orange snow-ice warning is in effect for Munster, Leinster, Cavan and Monaghan, while the status yellow snow-ice warning is in place for Connaught and Donegal.

Widespread lying snow and icy conditions will continue to make many roads and paths very slippery, while snow melt will continue to increase river levels and may lead to localised surface water flooding.

Both warnings are valid from 3pm on Saturday 3 March until 12pm on Sunday 4 March.
