Weather

Wrap up warm out there.

You’ve probably been feeling the pinch this Bank Holiday Monday.

As such, Met Éireann has issued a nationwide status yellow warning with temperatures set to plunge across Ireland on Monday night.

Sub-zero temperatures are expected, possibly dipping as low as -5C, with an average of -3 to -4C expected widely.

The warning was issued on Monday afternoon and is valid from midnight on Tuesday 20 March until 9am on Tuesday morning.

Daytime Bank Holiday Monday temperatures will range between 3C and 6C, as the country enjoys sunshine and clear skies that will ultimately lead to a cold night and the likelihood of severe frost on Tuesday morning.
