Weather warning

Rain, rain, rain…

Met Éireann has issued a yellow status rain warning for thirteen counties.

It kicks in from 2am on Tuesday morning, remaining in place until 2pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Those in Cork, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Dublin, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway and Mayo are told to expect “heavy rainfall later tonight and for a time on Tuesday. 20-30mm is expected to fall over a short period, leading to some surface flooding. Higher totals are expected in mountainous areas.”

A status yellow wind warning, meanwhile, applies to all of the above counties as well as Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, with the warning coming into effect on Tuesday morning at 3am and remaining in place until 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.

After that, the rest of the week looks set to be slightly better.

Wednesday will keep the rain, but the temperatures will climb yet again, to around 13 degrees during the day and 7 degrees that night.

So kinda warm as well the rain. Fun!

Thursday and Friday will see more of the same, with the rain focused primarily on the coasts, but the temperatures not looking to drop too drastically.
