Rain. A LOT of rain.
Met Éireann have issued a warning for five counties, due to heavy rain overnight, with up to 20-30mm expected.
The status yellow weather warning is in effect for the following counties:
Carlow
Kilkenny
Wexford
Wicklow
Waterford
The warning is in place from 9pm on Sunday night until 9am on Monday morning.
Looking beyond the next few days, it is expected the heavy rainfall will continue well into next week, too.
Midland Weather Channel predict that: “Rainfall totals in many areas are expected to be well above average, with some models suggesting that parts of the south, southeast and east of the country seeing almost two months worth of rain in one week.
“If these models do play out in reality then we could certainly see some flooding across parts of the country. All areas are at risk but especially southern and southeastern areas at present.”
